Behavior Support Specialist, Colchester

Responsibilities include: Promote the program-wide implementation of the Pyramid Model for Supporting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children; conduct child and classroom observations and assess teaching practices; support, mentor, coach and consult with teachers and teaching teams to assess and improve general classroom management and child behavior support practices; promote family engagement and involvement around classroom and home-based behavioral supports for children; maintain program compliance with regulations and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, human services, or related field. Experience working in early childhood education environments, using a team-based approach to supporting children and their families. Knowledge of the Pyramid Model for Supporting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children (or Early MTSS/PBIS) and ability to support program-wide implementation of recommended practices. Demonstrated knowledge of positive discipline and behavior support techniques, and trauma-informed care principles. Previous experience as a mentor or practice-based coach is a plus. Infant/Toddler Early Care Advocate – Otter Creek Children’s Center, Middlebury

Provide or support center-based care of infants and toddlers so as to enhance their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development; provide social service visits for families to support parents in the care, nurturing and coordination of health services for their infants and toddlers; and help parents address family needs and goals.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related education field and relevant work experience including training in infant and toddler development or a bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field, and relevant work experience including training in infant and toddler development. Also preferred are experience in curriculum planning and implementation, child outcome assessment, and working with children with special needs. 32 hours per week, full year.
