Champlain Valley Head Start Associate Director, Burlington

Responsibilities include: Oversight and management of CVHS collaborative partnerships; Supervision of CVHS County Supervisors; Provision of support and coordination for the work of the CVHS Director and Administrative Team; Human resources management for CVHS, inclusive of management of the hiring process for direct service staff and support for County Supervisors in personnel management functions; and facilitation of CVHS Administrative / Management team projects, program committees and related work.

Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree, Master’s level preferred, and 3 to 5 years’ experience in supervision of staff or consultants, fiscal management, and administration. Knowledge and experience in child or family development, education, social work, human services or related field preferred. Full time / full year position including a health plan and excellent benefit package.

Preschool Teacher – JFK Elementary, Winooski

Provide developmentally appropriate environment and experiences for preschool children in a Head Start classroom, and home visits for families. Assist families in accessing medical and dental care for preschool children, and help parents address family needs and goals. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related education field and VT educator’s license with Early Childhood Education Endorsement, classroom experience, and experience in curriculum planning and implementation, child outcome assessment, and working with children with special needs required. Ability to demonstrate excellent teacher-child interactions as reflected in CLASS scores (to be conducted). 40 hours/week, approx. 42 weeks/year (summer layoff). Infant/Toddler Early Care Advocate – Otter Creek Children’s Center, Middlebury

Provide or support center-based care of infants and toddlers so as to enhance their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development; provide social service visits for families to support parents in the care, nurturing and coordination of health services for their infants and toddlers; and help parents address family needs and goals. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related education field and relevant work experience including training in infant and toddler development or a bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field, and relevant work experience including training in infant and toddler development. Also preferred are experience in curriculum planning and implementation, child outcome assessment, and working with children with special needs. 32 hours per week, full year. Starting wage upon completion of 60-working day period: $19.93–23.80/hour, depending upon qualifications. Health plan and excellent benefits.
