The following elements are essential to our mission:
CVHS adheres to Head Start Federal Performance Standards, as well as Vermont Early Childhood Program Licensing Regulations. CVHS provides, and is committed to, high quality services for children and families. STARS is Vermont’s quality recognition system for child care, preschool, and afterschool programs, and the majority of CVHS preschool centers are 5 STAR centers. Programs that participate in STARS are stepping ahead – going above and beyond state regulations to provide professional services that meet the needs of children and families.
CVHS supports children and families to be healthy, successful, and ready for school and for life. We individualize services to meet the unique needs of children and families to support the optimal development of the child within the family, and the development of the family within the community.
CVHS is committed to the health, safety and well-being of children and families. CVHS promotes and supports the physical and mental health of children, with a particular emphasis on healthy social and emotional development and the building of healthy relationships. CVHS is focused on particular issues including oral health for children, healthy lifestyles for families, and safe and healthy learning environments for children.
The old adage, “It takes a village to raise a child,” is true. CVHS blends staffing and resources with other child and family service providers, as well as state and local human services agencies, to assure that children and families receive the full range of available services responsive to their unique, and ever-changing, needs.
